Sony HT-7100DH
$500.00
Released October, 2001
The Pros:Easy enough to hook up that entry-level users won't have any problems. Uses standard cabling that's easy to replace. Receiver has a clean appearance without a lot of extra knobs and buttons.
The Cons:Print on the receiver and DVD player is really small and hard to read. Comes with two remotes rather than one universal remote. Menus aren't easy to navigate, a bit confusing.
The Sony HT-7100DH Home Theatre Component System, like the HT-7200DH features a 900-watt RMS AV receiver, but instead of the 7200’s barebones 1-disc player, the 7100 comes equipped with a 5-CD/DVD changer with HDMI output for an uncompressed signal to any attached HDTV.

It also features a dedicated Digital Media Port, for accessories that connect the player to PCs, iPods, or Bluetooth devices, as well as XM Satellite Radio connectivity (paid service separate). Unlike the HT-7100DH, this model does not support BRAVIA Sync, making it a more likely candidate for customers with non-Sony HDTVs.
Features
- 5-CD/DVD changer with HDMI output
- 900 watts RMS output in true 5.1 surround sound
- Digital Media Port
- XM Satellite Radio ready

satellite and center speakers are a bit weak and can't fill a larger room, will be just adequate in a medium-sized room
