The Sony BDV-E500 is a 5.1 channel high end home theater system designed to provide crystal clear HD quality sound. The BDV-E500 features a Blu-Ray disc and DVD player with standard DVD up-conversion to 1080p via HDMI.

The E500 also offers full BD Live technology support which allows users to download and experience bonus or additional content which can be accessed via the network port (assuming it is connected to the internet). The Sony BDV-E500 includes additional features such as a 1000 watt total output, S-Air technology wireless rear speakers, 5 speakers total not including the bass unit, and an optional iPod cradle (TDM-IP50) which will allow users to connect their iPod to the receiver unit.

Features

The only notable difference between the BDV-E300 and the BDV-E500 is that the E500 includes two S-Air technology wireless rear speakers bundled with the receiever unit. The E300 is S-Air wireless ready, but the wireless speakers must be purchased separately.
