Sherwood VR-652B
$250.00
Released March, 2008
The Pros:Sound is clear, brings out voices and sound effects well. Setup is easy enough for entry-level users. Subwoofer is powerful enough for most situations and has fairly tight audio.
The Cons:DVD player is oddly shaped, won't fit in with other home theater equipment. Highs can still sound a little harsh in the upper ranges.
The Sherwood VR-652B is a sound-bar virtual surround sound home theater system. Through advanced digital processing, the system creates the illusion of sound emitting from speakers behind and on either side of the listener.

The 50W sound bar combines with a 50W subwoofer to provide 100W RMS total, like the VR-652. The VR-652B includes a DVD player which supports a wide range of formats and a 40-preset AM/FM tuner. Also, when used with headphones, the system uses Dolby technology to create a similar 5-channel effect. The sound bar is wall-mountable.
