It features Dolby Digital 5.1 channel surround sound technology to provide a full, wide band frequency response of 20Hz to 20kHz.  The RTD315W includes a progressive scan DVD player that offers multi-format playback to give it support for rewritable discs, VCD, SVCD, MP3, and WMA files.  The DVD player offers 1080p upconversion and has an HDMI output for high definition graphics.  It also has a digital AM/FM tuner and differs with the RTD315 since it lacks a front panel USB input.  The RTD315W is available in a black finish and comes with a 1 year limited warranty.

Dmitri: #rca_rtd315w This system is a decent (as above mentioned) entry level device.....until it breaks. I've seen claims of them breaking anywhere between mine, almost two years old now, and under a week old. I have yet to determine the cause for this to happen, but I'm assuming that it's the lack of a energy saving mode while using auxiliary input, most likely overheating the device. As mentioned by the user below it has happened twice, meaning that beyond the device being poorly made it has most likely something to due with usage habits. The point is, if you don't use much, it may last a few years, so long as it stays powered off when not in use.....otherwise, you'll almost invariably run into the same problem someday, so, I agree with Ben. Don't buy it! Dec 21, 10

Ben: #rca_rtd315w DO NOT BUY. This surround sound system was a complete waste. I've gotten it replaced once before, and now it's been broken again for at least five months. I'm tired of messing with it. The device will not turn on, many others have reported the same problem. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! Dec 18, 10

Dan Kessler: #rca_rtd315w Just bought it. System is weak. DVD is fine but surround quality lacks depth and feel. If you want to feel your sound as well as hear it, then this system is not for you. Will be returning it tomorrow. Jun 20, 09
