The Philips MCD709/37 is a micro-DVD theater system offered by Philips. The system consists of a compact DVD player, compact AV receiver, a subwoofer and two floorstanding tallboy speakers. The DVD player can play DVDs, VCDs, CDs and a variety of writeble CDs, including MP3, WMA and picture CDs.

It features a progressive scan component video output for optimized image quality and Dolby Digital decoding for the ultimate audio experience for movies. The class "D" amplifier gives high quality sound performance and the Neodymium Ribbon Tweeter gives impressive audio fidelity.  There are gold plated speaker connectors and rosewood speaker enclosures for higher sound quality. The DVD and receiver have aluminum die cast cabinets and feature four triangular feet to reduce distortion due to vibration. The Philips MCD709/37 also features an AM/FM tuner and comes with a high quality remote control.
