When compared to a lower end model from Panasonic, the SC-PT480, the SC-ZT2 features several advantages, such as 3D audio and visual capability, and Virtual 7.1ch surround sound (as opposed to 5.1ch).

They also have a built-in subwoofer, and use Panasonic's most advanced speaker design. The full HD 3D passthrough lets 3D audio and visual signals (from devices such as a 3D HDTV or 3D Blu-Ray player) to be sent through the home theater system.
