When compared to a lower end model from Panasonic, the SC-PT480, the SC-ZT2 features several advantages, such as 3D audio and visual capability, and Virtual 7.1ch surround sound (as opposed to 5.1ch).
The SC-ZT2 uses Virtual 7.1ch sound, to simulate up to 7.1 channel surround using only two speakers. The slim pole speakers allow a user to conserve space. Both speakers are wireless. They also have a built-in subwoofer, and use Panasonic's most advanced speaker design. The full HD 3D passthrough lets 3D audio and visual signals (from devices such as a 3D HDTV or 3D Blu-Ray player) to be sent through the home theater system.
