Panasonic SC-HT800V

$450.00 Released April, 2003

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Compact design, contains a lot of features in a small unit. Plays a wide range of disc formats including a few that are poorly supported elsewhere(VCD, HighMAT, etc..). Surround effects are excellent, gives a great sense of space.

The Cons:No digital audio output for external receivers. Some flicker is noticeable when using progressive scan on DVDs. Remote is a little awkwardly designed, it's big and requires several key presses to do some fairly simple things.

The SC-HT800V is a mid-range, DVD/VCR combo home theater system from Panasonic. The 5.1-channel system, available in a grey color scheme, reaches 220 W of total power. The central unit plays VCRs, CDs, and DVDs, and supports MP3s and JPEG photos stored on CDs.
