Panasonic SC-BT303
$600.00
The Pros:Bass provides pounding sound effects for movies. Surround effect creates a good cinema experience. Audio is full and rich, nice presence overall.
The Cons:Blu-ray player is slow to respond, takes a long time to start playing a movie. Speaker wires use a Panasonic connector, proprietary and hard to find replacements for.
The SC-BT303 is a mid-range Blu-ray home theater system from Panasonic. It utilizes a 7.1-channel set-up, combining seven Bamboo Cone speakers and a Kelton subwoofer. Its center speaker and subwoofer are more powerful than those of the SC-BT203, for a total power of 1250 W instead of 1000 W.

The Blu-ray player supports BD-Live, has an SD/SDHC card reader for AVCHD/JPEG playback, and features an ethernet port for firmware updates. The system supports VIERA CAST, a Panasonic service which connects to web content, from video- and photo-sharing sites to weather and traffic reports. Other features include an integrated iPod dock and Smart Setup software, which aims to simplify the process of installing and calibrating a surround sound system. The SC-BT303 has been discontinued, superseded by the SC-BT300 in early 2009.
