The JVC TH-M55 is a compact 5.1 home theater system in a box offered by JVC. The system is comprised of an ultra compact 5.1 channel AV receiver / 5-disc DVD player, a 120 watt subwoofer, one 100 watt 2-way center channel speaker and four 100 watt 2-way satellite speakers (front/rear, left/right).

It has Dolby Digital, DTS and ProLogic II decoding to give a true home theater experience with 5.1 surround sound. The built in DVD player can play a variety of disc formats including CD, DVD, CD-R/RW, VCD's and MP3 cd's. The receiver has a a component output for high quality video output as well as composite and s-video ins/outs. There is also an optical digital audio input and aux input to connect other audio devices. Other features include a Digital Acoustic Processor (DAP)for 2 channel sources with 5 modes, AV COMPU LINK, and easy speaker installation with single, color coded cables. The JVC TH-M55 also features an AM/FM stereo tuner and comes with a remote control.
