JVC TH-C30
$330.00
Released March, 2006
The Pros:Excellent feature set at the price point - incorporates high-quality audio playback, multi-disc support and USB connectivity amongst other things. On-screen menu is well laid-out and easy to use - enables fast input/output switching and provides visual playback referencing.
The Cons:Bass output is somewhat lacking despite the dedicated subwoofer - most bass-heavy audio including hip-hop/electronic music and action movie content feels "choked" or under-represented. Minimal selection of input/output jacks is not recommended for users with a large amount of external devices - included disc-playing capabilities appear to warrant minimal I/O jacks. Unit is prone to considerable delay when switching input sources - users report waiting up to 5 seconds before having access to desired content.
